Skizzy dropped this within the last fifteen minutes and by the time I first listened to it on his SoundCloud, it had already been listened to over 450 times. It fits nicely in the typical style that Skizzy puts out. The laid-back, poetic, almost like he is dreaming about some other world than what we live in, type of rapping he does really captivates me and the rest of us here on Empty Throne. He is definitely one of the best artists of 2011, and I am excited to see what he puts out next.
Z.Rog and and Collin should add their two cents on this one as well since Z.Rog put it best when he said this on Twitter a few days ago…
Update (12/14): My 2 cents? Cover art FTW – Z.Rog
This is definitely not the first time Pretty Lights has been rapped over. We featured Na Palm doing it back at the end of August and then there are the countless other remixes to it. But Jay Fresh is definitely worth posting. He is a 90′s baby from Dallas, Texas and reps the indie hip hop genre pretty well down there. He is in the process of blowing up and has opened for acts such as LMAO, Mac Miller, The Cool Kids, Yelawolf, and more. Due to the Pretty Lights beat, this song will definitely make you zone out, so if you’re walking across campus with your headphones in, make sure you don’t run over someone.
The next gem is by one of my new favorite artists, Skizzy Mars. This dropped a couple days ago, but with exams and the new site going up, I’m just getting around to post it. It definitely sticks to typical Skizzy style, which I love, and right around 1:14 seconds, the beat really picks up and my thumbs can’t stop twiddling to it.
Check both out below and then donwload.
Yes. All I can say is mothefricking Yes. Spotted this at one of my favorite sites, Camelback Music, and I have been blasting it at ignant, yes ignant, levels all motherfricking morning. It’s a Xaphoon Jones beat and then DJ 21azy mixes in the Biggie. This is a song YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST DOWNLOAD or I’m going to ask Kim Kardashian to try and make another song. You don’t want that to happen so just do as I say. So gosh dang unreal.
Foster The People is absolutely genius as far as catchiness and making the perfect beat. Remember in “Pumped Up Kicks” how they got everyone’s attention from people all across the board just by the way the beat went with the rest of the song? Check this one out, Skizzy Mars on the lyrics. What a great collabo.
Okay, I’ll be perfectly honest, I had never heard of Skizzy Mars until today when I saw this track posted over at GMAD. This is the first day in about two weeks where I’ve had some down time, so I’ve been doing a little exploring and have been checking out some new artists; this is one of my better finds of the day. Skizzy Mars has a nice flow that goes really well with the instrumental he gets on. Due to the intricate word play, this song demands multiple listens, so hit the download link below.
I wanna thank my connect: GMAD
