Song: Lover Boys Around The World – DJ 21azy

December 18, 2011 |  by  |  Songs  |  , ,  |  No Comments

I’ve been packing up my apartment ‘n shizz to come home for the epic winter break that’s about to ensue, and then I sat down to start drinking. DJ 21azy just dropped this on his Facebook and holy shit it’s unreal. His song, Colours, was one of Empty Throne’s most downloaded, and every time I put it on, people’s jaws drop. Well this one is on that level too. Lover Boys Around The World mixes some old school Biggie, with some Bibio as well; do I hear some Jagged Edge in there?! DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS ONE. I cannot stress this enough, so I will repeat: DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS ONE. Everybody have a great Saturday night. As Mrs. Bean would say, “Be safe, be smart, but have fun.”

Song: Colours (DJ 21azy): Skizzy Mars (feat. The Notorious B.I.G.)

Yes. All I can say is mothefricking Yes. Spotted this at one of my favorite sites, Camelback Music, and I have been blasting it at ignant, yes ignant, levels all motherfricking morning. It’s a Xaphoon Jones beat and then DJ 21azy mixes in the Biggie. This is a song YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST DOWNLOAD or I’m going to ask Kim Kardashian to try and make another song. You don’t want that to happen so just do as I say. So gosh dang unreal.

Interview: DJ Clark Kent with the Life Files

March 13, 2011 |  by  |  Interviews, Video  |  , ,  |  No Comments

Ok so let me just start off by saying DJ Clark Kent is brilliant when it comes to this little thing we call hip hop. If I were to sit down and make a “Hip Hop Round Table” for people to just share and debate hip hop music and culture Clark Kent is definitely in there. He is talented and has been around long enough to have some of the coolest stories of hip hop culture. For those of you who don’t know, Clark has been instrumental in crafting some of the greatest hip hop records of all time and shaping the sound of some of the greatest MC’s. Kent is actually responsible for probably the greatest duo hip hop record ever made, “Brooklyn’s Finest” by Jay-Z featuring The Notorious B.I.G. In this clip he talks with The Life Files about the Notorious B.I.G., specifically Junior Mafia, introducing B.I.G. to Jay-Z’s music and B.I.G. as a person. If you are a fan of hip hop at all you should check this video and read up on DJ Clark Kent.

Song: Jay-Z Empire State of Mind Remix – Pretty Lights

February 3, 2011 |  by  |  Uncategorized  |  , , , , , ,  |  No Comments

Now as most of you know I am a Jay-Z stan. Empire State of Mind was easily one of my favorite songs of 2009 and I still love it now and will probably love it for the rest of my life. With that said I wasn’t into a lot of the remixes because I felt like that was a song that should have just been left alone. Pretty Lights, however, get a pass because they come through and remix this record like nobody but Pretty Lights can. This is a must download people so get to it. Link is below.
